To change path group IDs for an existing journal group:

1.

Dissolve the copy pairs of the journal group.

From the Manage Copy Groups panel, dissolve the copy pairs of the journal group for which
path group IDs are to be changed.

2.

Set path group IDs when defining inter-disk controller logical paths.

From the Edit Logical Path Definition panel, specify path group IDs in the range from 00 to
FF

. Set the same value for the path group ID in the forward direction (Primary) and the path

group ID in the reverse direction (Secondary).

3.

Establish the paths.

From the Manage Path Set panel, establish the inter-disk controller logical paths.

4.

Change the path group IDs of the journal group.

From the Copy Group Attribute (CAJ) panel or the Copy Group Detail Definition panel, change
the values in the Path ID column to the new path group IDs.

5.

Create copy pairs for the journal group.

From the Manage Copy Groups panel, create copy pairs for the journal group.

Setting up the Remote DKC Control Function environment

This section describes how to set up a Remote DKC Control Function environment.

General procedure for setting up a Remote DKC Control Function environment

This subsection describes the general procedure for setting up a Remote DKC Control Function
environment. For details, see the referenced subsections.
1.

Verify that the prerequisite conditions have been met (see

“Prerequisite conditions for using

the Remote DKC Control Function” (page 127)

).

2.

Configure routes and command device lines (see

“Configuring routes and command device

lines” (page 128)

).

3.

Define a route list (see

“Defining the route list” (page 128)

).

4.

Register command devices in the storage systems (see

“Registering a command device”

(page 132)

).

5.

Place the command devices offline.

Before using the Remote DKC Control Function, place all command devices offline.

6.

Execute the YKLOAD command.

From the ISPF panel or a script, execute the YKLOAD command to specify the DAD parameter
and the ROUTE parameter.

CAUTION:

For the XP1024/XP128 Disk Array series, you must initialize a volume for a command

device before defining a route list. For details about initializing volumes for command devices, see

“Initializing volumes for command devices for the XP1024/XP128 Disk Array” (page 681)

.

Prerequisite conditions for using the Remote DKC Control Function

The following are the prerequisite conditions for defining a Remote DKC Control Function
environment:

The storage systems on the primary site must have already been connected to the storage
systems on other sites via Fibre Channel Link.

A disk configuration definition file must have been created for the storage systems on the
primary site.
