4.

Execute the YKQUERY command.

Because an existing journal group has not been registered in the EXCTG yet, the YKZ296E
message indicating that the journal group has not been registered in the EXCTG is output.

5.

Execute the YKMAKE command with SELECT(COND) specified.

A copy pair for the added journal group is created, after which the journal group is registered

Changing to a 4x4 Configuration Without Changing the Existing Storage System Configuration

To change to a 4x4 configuration without adding storage systems to a 2DC configuration, while
keeping the configuration of the storage system as is, perform the procedure below. The following
figure is a representation of the change.

Setting up the Storage System

Set up the following items by using Remote Web Console.
1.

Configure an arbitration command device on the subordinate disk controller (S2).

2.

Set up an arbitration path from the supervisor disk controller (S1) to the subordinate disk
controller (S2).

3.

Map the arbitration command device on the subordinate disk controller (S2) to the supervisor
disk controller (S1) (setup of the remote command device).

Creating a Copy Group

Create a copy group from the primary site.
To change to a 4x4 configuration without adding storage systems to a 2DC configuration:
1.

Change the copy pair status of the existing journal group to DUPLEX to make the copy direction
the same within the group.

2.

From the ISPF panel, define a copy group container.

If the type of the copy group to be changed to an EXCTG is already a copy group container,
this procedure is not necessary. If you change separate copy groups to an EXCTG, define
them as a copy group container.

3.

From the ISPF panel, define the copy group container as an EXCTG.

4.

Execute the YKQUERY command.

Because an existing journal group has not been registered in the EXCTG yet, the YKZ296E
message indicating that the journal group has not been registered in the EXCTG is output.
