Importing definitions for monitoring PPRC copy pairs

PPRC copy pairs can be imported as Business Continuity Manager copy groups, so that the PPRC
copy pair statuses can be monitored from Business Continuity Manager. The following configuration
files are needed to import a PPRC copy pair:

Disk configuration definition file

Copy group definition file

When using the copy group definition generation function for PPRC copy pairs in order to import
PPRC copy pairs, you can generate copy group definition files. However, the disk configuration
definition files are not created so you will need to create them beforehand.

Perform the following before generating a copy group definition file:

For JCL JOB Statement in the Set Defaults panel, set the value used for the background job for
scanning the PPRC copy pair P-VOLs.

Create a disk configuration definition file for the P-VOLs and S-VOLs.

Secure a dataset for storing copy group definition files (this is not necessary when extra device
capacity and a VTOC exists).

Figure 107 (page 280)

gives an example configuration for a PPRC Cnt Ac-S or TCA copy pair.
