Configuring the I/O

A project must maintain specific revision level control.

The controller cannot be taken offline. RSLogix 5000 software, version
16.00 or later, enables the drive Generic Profile to be added while the
controller is online and in the Run mode.

Adding the Drive/Option Module to the I/O Configuration

To transmit data between the bridge and the drive, you must add the drive as a
child device to the parent bridge.

1.

In the treeview, right-click the bridge and choose New Module to display
the Select Module dialog box.

In our example, we right-click the 1756-EN2TR/A bridge.

2.

Expand the Communications group to display all of the available
communication modules.

3.

Select “ETHERNET-MODULE” from the list to configure the drive and
its connected EtherNet/IP option module

4.

Click OK.

The drive’s New Module dialog box appears.
