1.5 Quick Start Configuration of the 9100-300
10/100BASE-TX UTP Interface
Configure the UTP interface as follows:
Step 1 Insert the UTP interface into the 9135 Two-Port Switch or 9140 Four-Port Switch, and tighten the
captive screws down. When the correct UTP and fiber cable attachments are completed, the
Interface LEDs will provide indications that confirm the dip switch settings. Refer to Section 1.8,
"Quick Start Interface Connection," for detailed information on the LED indicators.
Step 2 Set the 9100-300 to 10 BASE -TX or 100 BASE-TX in software. For details, see Chapter 5.
Note: Although the 9135 and 9140 is designed to soft reset whenever a card is inserted, it may not always
do so; therefore after inserting a card, monitor the unit for a reset. If the unit fails to do so, force a reset
manually by depressing the reset button on the right side of the unit.
