Software Management
4.1 SNMP Management Overview - VT100
The 9135 Two-Port Switch and the 9140 Four-Port Switch implements a VT100 terminal emulation for
management control functionality. To access the management program you will need to utilize one of three
methods: Modem connection, SLIP, Telnet or HyperTerminal. Refer to Chapter 5 for SNMP Management
Operation and detailed instructions.
4.1.1 Management Access - Terminal
The Terminal Port (EIA 232) will be used to access the VT100 User interface program. The Terminal Port
is located on the rear panel of the 9135 or 9140.

Management Access - Telnet
The 10/100BASE-T Port will use the Telnet Program to access the VT100 User Interface program. The
10/100BASE-T Port is located on the front panel interface module.

The SLIP Port will use a modem connection to access the management program. The SLIP Port is located
on the rear panel of the 9135 or 9140.
