Step 2 The HyperTerminal program will open and prompt you to configure the serial port for terminal
operation, as shown in Figure 5-2. Choose an icon and a name for the terminal connection file and click on
the OK button.
Step 3 Select COM1 from the Connect using drop down menu as shown in Figure 5-3 and click OK.

Step 4 Enter the COM1 parameters as shown in Figure 5-4, and click OK.
