Technical notes on Password Protection:
When logging on, if the password string you enter matches the supervisor string, you are logged on as
SUPERVISOR. Conversely, if it matches the manager string, you are logged on as Manager. The same
applies if you are logged on as User. If none of the correct passwords is entered, you will receive the
prompt "invalid password."
After gaining access to the menus, each editable menu item has a minimum access level, which must be
met before the edit is allowed. For example, if you are logged in as USER and you try to change a
Spanning Tree parameter, you will get a message "ACCESS DENIED: SUPERVISOR LEVEL
REQUIRED."
SUPERVISOR is never denied access to any menu or configuration attempt. Manager can do all functions
that are not set for "SUPERVISOR" level access.
Password level assignments are fixed and cannot be configured; thus, care must be taken upon assignment
and distribution of passwords.
