Sniffer Settings (9140 Four-Port Switch)
One of the Ports on the 9140 can be assigned as a sniffer port. When this option is selected, the "Sniffer
Port" mirrors the activities of any problem, or suspect port on the 9135/9140. This is very beneficial as a
troubleshooting aid. Figure 5-34 represents Port 1 mirroring Port 4, which is our suspect port.

5.2.6 Restore Defaults
Select "Main Menu" to return to the screen shown in Figure 5-35. Selection number 6 on the Main Menu
will restore all configurable settings with the exception of:
•
IP Address
•
Gateway Address
•
Subnet Mask
•
SLIP Address
5.2.7 Restart Unit
Selection number 7 on the Main Menu will restart the unit. See Figure 5-35. You must restart the unit after
a firmware download to run the new revision.
Note: When the Restart Unit option is selected, Data Exchange on all ports will be disrupted.
5.2.8 Logout
When passwords are set, be sure to logout after the conclusion of each session. Select number 8 from the
Main Menu screen as shown in Figure 5-35.
Note: Logout will not be necessary if the Restart Unit option was selected.
