When the Main Menu screen appears, the user may select the appropriate screen to setup, monitor or
change system settings for the Switch configurations. The VT100 program is divided, as seen on the Main
Menu, into eight major areas of functionality:
•
System: IP Addressing, BOOTP Enable, TFTP
•
Switch Configuration: system configuration settings
•
Port Information: individual or group port status information
•
Reports: system reports
•
Diagnostics: system diagnostics
•
Restore Defaults: This setting restores all factory defaults with the exception of:
•
IP Address
•
Gateway IP Address
•
Subnet Mask
•
SLIP Port settings
•
Restart unit: restarts the unit. After a TFTP firmware upgrade has been completed a restart is
required to change the active bank to that which holds the new upgrade.
Note: Restarting the unit will disrupt the flow of data during the restart sequence.
•
Logout: The user must logout after each session to ensure password integrity. If the user fails to
logout, it may be possible for the next user to access the management program (at the same password
level as the previous user) without entering a password.
