4.5 TCP/IP

Stack

TCP/IP, SNMP, and TFTP download support are integrated into the optional 9135 Two-Port Switch and
the 9140 Four-Port Switch Manager Module. SLIP is also implemented to support SNMP + IP based
management over a serial line or a modem.

In-band SNMP management is possible through any 9135/9140 port or through the out-of-band
management using the modem port.

The following MIBs are supported:

RFC 1213 (MIB II)

RFC 1493 (Bridge MIB)

Private MIB


Traps are created in the following events:

Link Loss

Remote Fault (100BASE-FX ports only)

Authentication

Cold Start


In order to maintain security, the NMS manager host IP address is user-defined. The IP table defines a set
of up to eight network management stations that are allowed to manage the device.

The IP table has the following headings:

Manager IP Address

Access Level

Trap Community


The access level has four levels (1-4):

Level 1:

Read only

Level 2:

Read - Write

Level 3:

Read - Trap

Level 4:

Read - Write - Trap
