Appendix B: Dial-up Connections via Modem

A dial-up modem connection allows users to monitor via the remote software and receive
alarm notice without an internet connection. Following are the steps for establishing the
connection between a Premium H.264 DVR and a PC.

Establishing Dial-in Connection

The Dial-in function enables users to establish dial-up modem communication to and from
the Premium H.264 DVR for monitoring via the remote software. Follow the description
below to set up the DVR and PC.

DVR Configuration:

• Connect an USB modem to the USB socket and connect a working phone line to the

modem.

• Press MENU and input correct username and password to access the OSD setup menu.

Select <Network Setup> Æ <Modem Setup> Æ <Dial-in Setup> to set up the Dial-In
settings, including Dial-in Account and password, etc.

• For more information on dial-in settings, see Section Dial-in Setup.

PC Configuration:

• Click <Start>, <My Network Places>, <View Network Connections> and then select

<Create New Connection>. The New Connection Wizard is displayed. Click <Next> to
continue.
