If your BCM50 system does not have a UPS, continue with the procedure

To connect a power

supply without a UPS

on page 103.

To connect a power supply using a UPS

1

Mount the UPS within 1.5 meters (5 ft.) of the BCM50 units.
The UPS must be close enough to the BCM50 units that you can connect the power supply to
both the UPS and the BCM50 units.

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the UPS.
For information about the location of the ports on the UPS, see the UPS documentation.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB hub.

Plug one end of the second USB cable into the USB hub.

Plug the other end of the second USB cable into the USB port on the main unit.

Plug the UPS power cord into the AC power source (wall outlet).

To connect a power supply without a UPS

Unpack the new power supply.

Check the power supply for damage. If you find damage, contact your Nortel representative.

Rotate the retention clip so the power outlet is open.

Plug the power supply cord into the BCM50 unit.

Warning: Do not use the power supply if the power supply cord or power supply
cable is damaged.

Note: Use only the power supply that is approved by Nortel for use with the BCM50
units.
