Chapter 9 Connecting the cables to the BCM50 system

The music source jack is on the front of the main unit. If you use the music source jack to connect
the music source, do not connect a music source to the music source pair on the RJ-21 telephony
connector.

To connect the music source using the music source jack

Connect the miniature jack of the music source output (3.5 mm mono audio jack) to the music
source input on the BCM50 main unit. See the figure

Adjust the volume of the music source to an appropriate level by placing a call and putting it
on hold, and then adjust the volume at the music source.

To connect the music source using the RJ-21 telephony
connector

Connect the music source output to the music source input on the RJ-21 telephony connector.

Adjust the volume of the music source to an appropriate level by placing a call and putting it
on hold, and then adjust the volume at the music source.

Tip: You can adjust the background music volume at every telephone.

Note: If you use the RJ-21 telephony connector to connect the music
source, do not connect a music source to the music source jack on the
front of the main unit.
