SUMP BREATHER VENT

In most cases, the engine sump breather vents into to the engine intake system. If necessary,

part of it can be vented outdoor ( see engine instructions). The breather should vent outdoor

away from doors, windows and air intakes. The connecting pipe must be of suitable

diameter, proportional to the length, and must be designed to prevent condensate pockets

that could obstruct the breather flow. Provide a condensate collection system that can be

drained periodically. The condensate, together with the exhausted oils, must be delivered to

authorized waste collection and disposal centers.

ENGINE OIL

The engine is tested and charged with lubricating oil before delivery, it just needs fuelling up

before it is started. If the oil needs topping up, refer to the engine instructions. Excessive

quantities of lubricating oil can cause permanent damage to the engine, do not exceed the

level specified by the manufacturer.

Excessive oil levels can damage the engine!

COMBUSTION SYSTEM ( FUEL TANK)

The diesel pump sets are equipped as standard with a complete fuel system, from the engine

to the standard supply tank. The minimum capacity of the tanks for diesel pumps built in
compliance with the fire regulations is established by the standards themselves to guarantee

a minimum operating time.

To specify special requirements or regulations, a few models are supplied with the tank

mounted separately.

To connect the tank, use pipes made out of copper or other materials specially designed for

use with fuels. For the diameter of the pipes, follow the directions of the engine

manufacturer (engine installation diagrams), which are generally valid for lengths of less than

5 m. For greater lengths the pipe must be sized on a case-by-case basis so as to guarantee

the proper flow of the fuel.

The flexible joints needed to isolate the fixed parts of the system with the tank from any

vibrations generated by the engine can be constructed according to the type of engine,

using:
-

Suitable lengths of fabric-reinforced rubber piping, resistant to diesel oil and flames

according to the regulations locally in force, suitable for connection to a hose coupling

terminal and fastened with screw clamps;

-

Low-pressure type flexible pipes, resistant to diesel oil and flames according to the

regulations locally in force, protected by a metal braid, ending with suitable threaded

couplings for a tight seal;

Do not use connections made of synthetic resin or any other material not suitable for use

with fuels.
