EXPANSION JOINTS

The expansion joints used for coupling the engine to the liquid end must be periodically

checked

every 6 months (the interval between checks varies depending on the use of the diesel

pump). The main checks concern the sound condition of the joint and the alignment of its

two components.

NOTES: All the diesel pumps are supplied aligned and locked in position by pins to prevent

any shifting during transportation; tampering with the position of the sets is absolutely

forbidden and will lead to the forfeiture of the warranty.

In any case, all operations intended to solve different problems must be performed by

qualified personnel only. Before proceeding with any operations on the expansion joints,

make sure that the diesel pump is switched off and that it cannot be started accidentally.

Only experienced personnel, aware of the possible hazards resulting from the movement of

mechanical members, are authorized to remove the protections.

Before proceeding with any checks or operations, read the Safety Instructions chapter and the
reference documents carefully.

The protections may be removed only after the diesel pump safety measures have

been implemented!
