If the set has been out of operation for a long time, especially in a humid environment, you
should check the ground isolation of the electrical panel and make sure the auxiliary circuits
are properly supplied with power. ( Refer to the panel wiring diagram)
FIRST COMMISSIONING
Once the preliminary operations described above have been carried out, proceed as follows:

Clean the set and its surrounding area thoroughly, removing all stains and dirt, oils,
fuels, thinners, etc..

Make sure there are no rugs, bits of paper or other lightweight materials near the air
suction inlets.
 Make sure there are no foreign bodies near the rotating parts.
 Stow all the tools and rags in the appropriate storage containers.

For firefighting diesel pump according to EN12845:2004.
Set the key-operated selector switch to MANUAL mode and follow the instructions
provided in the control unit manual.
The diesel pump begins its automatic startup cycle with the fuel supply turned off. Six
automatic startup attempts will be made, each lasting no less than 15 seconds, with the
starter in ON mode and with 10 and 15 second intervals. After the six attempts, a failure
to start alarm will be triggered. Restore the fuel supply and press the START button on
the control unit.

Switch off the diesel pump by setting the key-operated selector switch to the “0”
position

For diesel pump for civil applications.
Start the diesel pump by setting the key-operated selector switch to the MANUAL
position (the diesel engine will start automatically a few seconds later, reaching steady
state speed immediately)

Switch off the diesel pump by setting the key-operated selector switch to the “0”
position

Make sure there are no leaks in the water, oil and fuel circuits.
 With the engine running, simulating the triggering of the sensors on the terminals, check
the correct operation of the protections against low oil pressure, high engine
temperature and charge generator failure, referring to the operating logics in the wiring
diagrams and the relevant standards (procedure for qualified personnel only).
 For the diesel pumps according to UNI standards, check the correct operation of the
alternance for the starting batteries.
As regards the following checks concerning correct operation, refer also to the section
containing the instructions for users, which illustrates in detail the different operating modes
and related controls.
 Check the automatic starting procedure: set the key-operated selector switch to the
AUTOMATIC position and simulate the triggering of the starting device on the terminal
board. If possible, the pressure drop should be simulated directly on the starting pressure
switch. To switch off the diesel pump after start-up, return the key-operated selector
switch to the STOP position
 One by one, check the proper operation of the EMERGENCY START BUTTONS. Warning:
after starting with the emergency button the diesel pump can be switched off only by
manually operating the stop lever situated on the engine (electric stop device).
