If I download data to my PC periodically in the field and restart the logging, will the data
from sequential studies be in the same file?
No. Once restarted due to user intervention or cycling of the power, the ADV6600 firmware will
automatically create a new file.
Can I delete a single file from the internal recorder of the ADV6600?
No. The ADV6600 uses flash memory, which requires that all data be removed from the recorder
during the erasure process. As such, individual files can not be removed.

How do I upgrade the internal firmware in the ADV6600?
There are two separate firmware types in the ADV6600, one firmware for the ADV sensor and
another for the water quality sensors (YSI 6-series sensors).
To upgrade the ADV firmware:
The ADVantage 6600 software has a built-in module for upgrading the ADV firmware. To access
this module first connect to your system, and then select System | Advanced | Update Firmware
from the menu. Firmware upgrades are available from the YSI website.
To upgrade the Water Quality sensor firmware:
The YSI Code Updater software can be downloaded from the YSI website. This is a self-contained
program that operates with all YSI sondes. Install this program on your computer, connect your
system to the PC, and run the Code Updater software.
