10. Select a unit preference (metric or English) and enter the SDI-12 address that you wish to

have associated with your particular ADV6600. The address must be a single digit
between 0-9, between A-Z (capital letters), or between a-z (lower case letters). After
selecting the address, click on OK.

11. The instrument will confirm the deployment information and switch to SDI-12 mode.

Close the window and then Choose “Yes” when asked to Close the current session”. The
ADV6600 is now in SDI-12 mode.

12. Disconnect the field cable from the PC and remove the 6095B PC adapter cable.
13. Using the picture below as an aid, locate the threaded cover on the MS-8 end of the field

cable. Unscrew this cover to reveal the SDI-12/RS-232 toggle switch. Adjust this switch
to SDI-12 mode. Reattach the protective cover, being very careful not to cross-thread the
connection.




















14. Attach the required adapter or flying lead to the field cable and connect to the SDI-12

device.

15. Verify on the SDI-12 device that communication has been established with the ADV6600.
16. When direct communication with the ADV6600 is required through the use of ADVantage

6600, make sure the switch on the field cable is toggled back to RS232. Then select
Connect to System >Change System Settings and click “Yes” when asked if you want to
exit the SDI-12 mode as shown in the window below.
