However, if the deployment requires a special mounting configuration, the clamps can be placed
outside the grooves with minimal chance of slippage as long as they are securely tightened with the
proper hex wrench.
The “cable retainer” portion of the clamp is designed to be used on steel cables which are suspended
from a buoy and are ideal for this application. However, with a little custom user engineering, a
tubular offset from a pole or abutment can be designed which will be compatible with the cable
retainer opening (0.375 inches) of the clamp as shown below. Using this customer engineering two
of the 6650 clamps can be used for virtually any type of deployment as shown in the pictures below.
