4-2.1. Laboratory Beam Check Procedure
1. Connect the ADV6600 to a computer.
2. Launch the ADVantage 6600 software.
3. Choose Connect to System. Verify the COM setting and Baud Rate.
4. Click on Connect and then select Beam Check from the Tools and Utilities list.
5. Remove the ADV6600 from its calibration cup and hold it within 0.0.5 inches of the
bottom of a plastic bucket which has been filled with tap water as shown in the picture
below left.
6. Start the Beam Check procedure by clicking on the green Start icon at the top of the screen.
7. The screen will update a display of data from the transducers every few seconds and the
display will appear very similar to that shown below if the ADV sensor is functioning
properly.
