Replacing the
Consumables
Replace the pad unit in the following procedure.
1
Turn off the scanner and wait for at least 15 minutes.
For details, refer to "1.3 Turning the Power ON/OFF" (page 19) .

Unplug the power cable.

Remove all documents from the ADF paper chute
(feeder).

Open the ADF cover.
For details, refer to "1.4 Opening/Closing the ADF" (page 20) .

Remove the pad unit.
Squeeze both ends of the pad unit and pull it out in the direction of the
arrow.
6.2 Replacing the Pad Unit
When the ADF cover is open, it might close
accidentally. Be careful not to get your
fingers caught.
Pad Unit
To avoid injuries, be careful not to get your
fingers caught on the metal part that has
been exposed after the pad unit was
removed or the pick spring (metal part).
