Basic Operations
The scanner panel functions and menus
The scanner panel enables you to set menus and view the status of the
scanner. This section provides information about:
• Status messages and error messages
• Main menus you can access from the scanner panel
For a detailed explanation of the activity lights and buttons on the scanner
panel,
see “Scanner panel overview” on page 35 .
When the scanner is scanning normally, status information about current
jobs appears in the display window. The messages are:
• Ready —Displays while the scanner is ready to print but not processing or
scanning a job.
• Scanning —Displays while a job is scanning.
• Sleep —Appears when the printer is in an Power Saver mode.
If there is a scanning problem, the ERROR indicator will be on, and an error
will appear in the display window. For information about error messages,
see “Scanner LCD panel” on page 246 .
The table on the next page describes the scanner’s main menus.
The scanner Menu mode includes a Main menu and a Selection menu that
can be changed from the scanner panel.
In the duplicate ready status (when “ Ready ” is displayed in the upper line of
the LCD), pressing the MODE button will allow you to enter the Menu mode.
Press the MODE button to display the next menu.
