Setup
Power on
1 Turn ON the scanner, then the printer.
2 The scanner will be ready after approximately 20
seconds, and “Ready”, “PTR Initializing” will be
displayed on the scanner LCD panel.
3 a) The READY indicator on the printer starts flashing
and “Initializing” is displayed on the printer LCD
panel.
b) After approximately 3.5 minutes, the printer’s READY
indicator is illuminated and “Ready” is displayed on
the printer LCD panel.
The printer is ready for printing.
4 Turn ON the computer after “Ready” is displayed on the
scanner and printer LCD panels.
NOTES:
• When you power on your system for the first time, if “New Hardware
Found” is displayed on the computer screen,
see page 102 .
• If you use Macintosh 7500/7600/8500/9500, follow the procedure below.
KX-PS8100 does not operate properly in the procedure above.
1. Turn on Macintosh 7500/7600/8500/9500.
2. Turn on the scanner, then the printer.
3. Check “ Ready ” is displayed on the scanner and printer LCD panels.
