Setup
If a SCSI-2 board has been installed in your computer, be sure it is
compatible (
see “SCSI interface” on page 298 ). If it is not installed, be sure
to install only a recommended SCSI-2 board ( see page 29 ).
If you do not have a SCSI cable, you will need to purchase one from your
local computer store or dealer (see
“SCSI interface” on page 298 ).
Recommendation for connecting DCIS:
• We recommend you to connect your DCIS with only one SCSI device.
• For a SCSI chain with up to three SCSI-2 (FAST SCSI) devices
connected, the total length of the SCSI cables must be less than 3 m
(9.8 ft.).
• Use shielded cables for SCSI-2 (FAST SCSI).
NOTE:
• Although a SCSI chain may exceed the recommended length and still
operate we cannot guarantee this operation.
1 Make sure the computer, scanner, printer and the other
connected peripheral devices are turned off.
2 Connect the SCSI cable (not provided) to the
computer’s SCSI connector and to the scanner’s SCSI
connector A or B.
The SCSI-2 board must be installed in the computer.
