Before You Start
Printer panel overview
This section describes the functions of the printer panel, illustrated below:
The printer LCD has two 24-character lines to display the printer’s status/
error messages or menu settings.
The activity lights indicate the status of the printer. They have the following
meanings:
This light Indicates
READY indicator (green)—
• ON: the printer is ready for operation.
• Blinking: the printer is warming up or in the Menu
mode.
• Blinking fast: the printer is printing.
ERROR indicator (orange)—
• ON: an internal error ("Call for Service" error) has
occurred.
• Blinking: user correctable error, such as media
jam, open door, or a missing replaceable
component (e.g. Toner) has occurred.
