CREATE SNMPV3 GROUP

Syntax

create snmpv3 group username=

username

[securitymodel=v1|v2c|v3] groupname=

groupnam

e

[storagetype=volatile|nonvolatile]

Parameter

username

Specifies a user name configured in the SNMPv3
User Table.

securitymodel

Specifies the security model of the above user
name. The options are:

v1

Associates the Security Name, or User

Name, with the SNMPv1 protocol.

v2c

Associates the Security Name, or User

Name, with the SNMPv2c protocol.

v3

Associates the Security Name, or User

Name, with the SNMPv3 protocol.

groupname

Specifies a group name configured in the SNMPv3
Access Table with the access parameter. See
“CREATE SNMPV3 ACCESS” on page 391.

storagetype

Specifies the storage type of this table entry. This is
an optional parameter. The options are:

volatile

Does not allow you to save the table

entry to the configuration file on the
switch. This is the default.

nonvolatile

Allows you to save the table entry to

the configuration file on the switch.

Description

This command creates an SNMPv3 SecurityToGroup Table entry.

Examples

The following command creates the SNMPv3 SecurityToGroup Table

entry for a user named Nancy. The security model is set to the SNMPv3
protocol. The group name, or security group, for this user is the “admin”
group. The storage type is set to nonvolatile storage.
