Using the lifting device, remove boom from chassis.

Place boom on saw horses or other adequate sup-
ports.

Disassembly

NOTE: By dismounting the push tubes and push tube sup-

port brackets from the fly boom, outer mid boom,
and inner mid boom, the powertrack assembly can
remain attached to the base boom section. Straps
(i.e. nylon ratchet straps) may be required to secure
the upper portion of the powertrack assembly
towards the base boom section.

NOTE: Prior to disassembling the boom, make sure the

boom sections are extended about a foot to make it
easier for component removal.

Use an adequate lifting device to support the jib.

2.

Remove the leveling cylinder keepers and pins.

3.

Tag and disconnect the two jib leveling cylinder
hoses. Cap or plug all openings.

4.

Strap the power track to the base boom in several
places for support.

5.

Move the jib assembly away from the boom.

6.

Remove the bolts that hold power track to boom.

7.

Count and mark all wear pads and shims to ensure
proper boom section spacing during reassembly.

8.

Remove the eight wear pads from the front of the
boom base section.

9.

Remove the bronze deflector sheaves. Loosen the
outer mid retract boom wire ropes.

10.

Remove the bolts securing the telescope cylinder
trunnion blocks and remove the trunnion blocks.

11.

Unbolt length sensor.

12.

Disconnect the cable running to the length sensor
and remove the length sensor.
