and bolts. Torque the main sheave bolts on the left
and right sides to 165 ft. lbs. (231 Nm).

9.

Route the threaded ends of the four fly extend wire
ropes through the extend sheave mount on outer
mid boom.

10.

Apply a thin coat of moly paste lubricant to the
inside diameter of the sheave composite bearings.
Install the fly extend sheave, pin, pin keeper, and
wire rope retainer blocks and shims.

NOTE: Use shims to avoid pulling the sheave mount plates

together. Ensure that the sheave moves freely.

11.

Install the outer mid retract wire rope button ends
into the slots on the rear side of the outer mid boom.
Slide the remaining lengths of wire rope into the
outer mid and fly boom subassembly for ease of
remaining steps.

the inner mid boom. Allow the subassembly to
remain about two feet (0.6 m) partially extended.

13.

Install the lower wear pads and shims to the inner
mid boom at the forward end of the boom assembly.

NOTE: Ensure that the fly retract wire ropes are located into

their respective grooves in the wear pad.

14.

Slide out the remaining outer mid retract wire ropes
from the outer mid and fly boom subassembly.
Route the threaded ends of the wire ropes through
the holes in the inner mid bottom plate at the retract
sheave locations.

15.

Apply a thin coat of moly paste lubricant to the
inside diameter of the sheave composite bearings.
Install the outer mid retract sheaves and bushing
cups while guiding the wire ropes from the previous
step into their respective sheave grooves. Apply
moly paste lube on the inside diameter of the
sheave bushing cup. A 3/4” - 16 UNF bolt may be
used as a pulling tool to remove the bushing cup if
required.

16.

Install the wire rope retainer blocks, retainer plates,
and bolts. The main sheave bolts on the left and
right are torqued to 165 ft. lbs.(231 Nm).
