Remove the proximity sensor.

Loosen the four extend wire ropes at the front of the
boom.

15.

Unbolt and remove the proximity sensor mounting
block and spring.

16.

Unscrew the hydraulic hoses. Cap or plug all open-
ings.

Remove trunnion keeper blocks.

18.

Secure the base boom. Connect the extend and
retract hoses to an external hydraulic power source
and extend the telescope cylinder approximately 3
feet (1 m).

19.

Rotate the telescope cylinder end 90° so the ears on
the end of the cylinder are vertical.

20.

Remove the boom length limit switch on the forward
end of the base boom.

21.

Extend the inner mid, outer mid and fly boom out
approximately two feet (0.5 m).

22.

Pull out the wire ropes between the base boom and
mid boom.

NOTE: The telescope cylinder may remain attached to the

fly, outer mid, and inner mid sections for step 23, or
may be removed prior to complete boom disassem-
bly as in steps 24 thru 27.

23.

Pull the inner mid, outer mid, and fly boom sections
out slowly along with wire ropes.

24.

Remove trunnion keepers from the telescope cylin-
der barrel.
