Syntax

set iscsiTarget [“iscsiID”]

(authenticationMethod=(none | chap) |

Parameters

Parameter

Description

iSCSIID

The iSCSI target for which you want to set properties.
Enclose the name in double quotation marks (“ ”). You
must also enclose the iscsi ID in either square brackets
([ ]) or angle brackets (< >).

authenticationMethod

The means of authenticating your iSCSI session.

chapSecret

The password that you want to use to authenticate a peer
connection.

targetAlias

The name that you want to use for the target.

NOTE: Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) is a protocol that authenticates the peer of a
connection. CHAP is based upon the peers sharing a “secret.” A secret is a security key that is similar to a
password.

NOTE: Use the chapSecret parameter only for initiators requiring mutual authentication.

NOTE: The targetAlias is a descriptive name that you can give to the target to help make it easier to identify.
You can use any combination of alphanumeric characters, hyphens, and underscores for the targetAlias. The
targetAlias can have a maximum of 30 characters.
