The following conditions are assumed::
•
The primary volumes on the source server and the volumes on the distribution target server are
formatted with NTFS, and are mounted on the D and E drives, respectively.
•
The primary and secondary volumes on the source server are mirrored (as set by the volume rep-
lication function and RAID Manager).
•
The secondary volumes on the source server are formatted with NTFS, and are not mounted.
•
The
drmsqlinit
command has been executed on the distribution target server.
•
The same instance has been created on both the source server and the distribution target server.
•
The FTP server is running.
•
The system databases (master, model, and msdb) are not specified when restoring.
The following explains the procedure for synchronizing the database on the source server and the
database on the distribution server and setting log-shipping operations on the source server, for using
the log-shipping functionality.
