Restore only IS12 individually

Restore IS13 and IS14 at the same time (you cannot restore just one)

NOTE:

When restoring backup data in units of Information Stores, you must apply (roll forward) the transaction
log at the time of restoration. For details on precautions relating to executing commands at restoration,
see the description for the

drmexgrestore

command in the manual

HP P9000 Replication Manager

Software Application Agent CLI Reference Guide.

Using a dynamic disk configuration

Dynamic disks are supported only by Exchange Server 2003.

If multiple storage groups are allocated to a file system (drive or mount point directory) of the same
disk group, you must collectively backup or restore these storage groups.

To back up or restore storage groups individually, allocate them to a file system (drive or mount
point directory) of a different disk group.

When allocating an Exchange database subject to backup to a file system (drive or mount point
directory), note the following points:
• You cannot allocate the transaction log file (

*.log

) to a file system (drive or mount point dir-

ectory) of the same disk group to which data files are allocated.

• For online backup, you cannot allocate the data files (

*.edb

,

*.stm

) and checkpoint file

(

*.chk

) to a file system (drive or mount point directory) of the same disk group.

The recovery storage groups for Exchange Server 2003 cannot be backed up. Allocate files and
folders that comprise a recovery storage group to a file system (drive or mount point directory) of
a disk group different from a storage group subject to backup.

Using a cluster configuration

Do not register the instances of multiple Exchange resources into a cluster group.

In a cluster environment, when restoring data in a physical node different from that used during
backup, an Exchange virtual server that uses the same shared disk as that used during backup
must be running. Application Agent cannot restore data for an Exchange virtual server, such as
one at a remote site, that uses a disk different from the one used during backup.

Using the Veritas Cluster Server for Windows

The status of the cluster resource groups must be online during backup. If it is not online, the backup
command (

drmexgbackup

or

EX_DRM_EXG_BACKUP

) will end in error.

The file system that stores registry replication data should not be backed up via Application Agent.
Make sure that you allocate such a file system to a disk group or physical disk that is not subject
to backup.

Application Agent uses Veritas Cluster Server Enterprise Agent for Microsoft Exchange to manage
the Exchange services and Exchange protocol services. Do not change the default name for the
resource type

ExchService

and

ExchProtocol

provided by Veritas Cluster Server Enterprise

Agent for Microsoft Exchange. Veritas Cluster Server Enterprise Agent for Microsoft Exchange is
bundled with Veritas Storage Foundation.
