3 Preparation for using Application Agent

This chapter explains the flow of environment setup required for using Application Agent, and gives
details on each step in the environment setup. The descriptions in this chapter apply to the Application
Agent CLI.

Setting up an environment for Application Agent

Table 4-1 shows the procedures for setting up an environment for Application Agent and the tasks
required for each server. To set up the environment, refer to the tasks marked "Needed" for each type
of server in the table.

Sometimes Application Agent commands need to be executed during environment setup. Administrator
permissions are required to execute Application Agent commands. For details on user permissions
for executing commands, see

NOTE:

If you omit specifying the parameters for setting up an environment or specify an invalid value (a
value that cannot be set), the default values will be used.
