3-17 KEYPAD/DTMF ACCESS USERS

Figure 3-31: Sample FMS URL (6-10) Links Configuration

The Keypad/DTMF Access Users link allows configuration of a maximum of 20 access codes and user
names. The access code can be up to six digits long. The user name can be up to 20 characters long. Each
ID Code/User can be selected as a “Permanent” or “Temporary” type. Temporary users are only allowed
access during the time specified in the Temporary Time drop box. This time may be set by selecting the Set
Temporary Time button.

Once the time frame has expired, the temporary users will not be allowed access. However, their
information will remain in the Keypad/DTMF field until it is manually removed. While temporary users
will not be allowed access to a facility after their allotted time slot, no alarm notification will be transmitted
if they try to re-enter the facility through the keypad. Their information must be manually removed from
the system in order to activate the alarm notification.

Exit Request Inputs
are used to prevent unnecessary alarms from being triggered. Exit Request Inputs
register when a motion sensor or keypad entry is entering or leaving a facility and then overrides the
normal alarm notification process (i.e., it prevents the system from registering normal entries or exits as
forced). The Exit Request input provides a dry contact that will signal a relay to unlock a door when the
contact closes from a button or motion sensor.

The Alarm Bypass Input is used in conjunction with the controlled access function of the FMS (digital
inputs 1-104). Typically a magnetic-based contact installed in a door detects the position of the door. This
contact sends a signal to the FMS to report door conditions such as “Forced” and “Held”. When enabled,
the alarm on the door is bypassed upon entry of this valid access code.

NOTE:

Press the Submit Changes button after configuration is complete or all access user
configuration changes will be lost.
