Chapter 3 Using AppCenter

Channels on an SD K2 Media Client

On an SD K2 Media Client, the channels are labeled C1, C2, C3, C4. Each channel is
bi-directional, that is, you can designate the channel to any application available on
the system. Once you designate a channel to run a specific application, the channel
remains the designated application until you change it. By default, two bi-directional
channels (C1 and C3) will have the recorder application loaded and two bi-directional
channels (C2 and C4) will have the player application loaded. You can change the
channel’s application in the Channel monitor.

Channels on an HD/SD K2 Media Client

On an HD/SD K2 Media Client, the channels are labeled according to their
predetermined application, for example, Recorder (R1), Player (P1), Player (P2).
Player (P3). Each channel is fixed, that is, the application that will run on that channel
was designated when the machine was built. The HD/SD K2 Media Client is
configured so that it can accept standard video input formats as well as HD video
input formats of 720p or 1080i. It can convert the video input into SD or HD video
output format.
