Startup panel: If you will be using Xplay to operate a control panel, you can use this
field to specify which panel you would like automatically opened when you launch
Xplay. To do so, click the

button beside the field to display the S

dialog

box, then make your selection. The panel will load right away. You can clear this field
at any time to launch Xplay without a startup panel.

Layout: To facilitate preview and playout control on one or more devices, Xplay
features two layout modes, which change the format and functional views on the right-
hand side of the Xplay interface. Select one of the following layout modes from the
drop-down list:

REVIEW

: OnAir-Preview is appropriate for controlling one device with only

one keyer. This option makes the bottom window display the element cued as next-
to-air for the device, and the upper window display the element currently on air. See

“On Air Preview Layout” on page 3-40

for more information.

: Multi-Device mode is appropriate if controlling more than one

device, or a device with multiple keyers. Each window becomes a preview window
displaying the playlist element that is next to air and/or what is currently on air on
the device or device’s keyer. If you select this option, you must also set the N
