Appendix A - Quick reference to Xplay’s menus and settings

Servers settings

The Xmedia Server is the central graphics asset management server for the Vertigo Suite
system. Along with the Data Server, the Xmedia Server manages the communication and
content that allows Xplay to build/edit playlists and pages, as well as playout the contents
of playlists to output devices.

You must be connected to the Xmedia Server and Data Server before Xplay can be
launched (

“Starting Xplay and connecting to the Xmedia Server” on page 2-3

). Once you

have specified these settings (upon installation), you should not need to modify them,
unless you need to connect to a server on a different machine (e.g. in the event of a crash).
You must restart Xplay for any edits to the Servers settings to take effect.
