Appendix A - Quick reference to Xplay’s menus and settings

Spell check on cue: When enabled, this setting executes a spell check on the playlist
element when the element is cued. If a potentially misspelled word is detected, a
colored line appears below it.

Spell check color: Specifies the RGB color that the S

for the line color to identify potentially misspelled words.

Use default offset after zero duration: This setting affects the offset applied to playlist
elements after edits. When the playlist is edited, the offsets of affected elements are
adjusted to avoid any gaps in the playlist. The rule applied when setting the offset of a
playlist element that follows a page element is to make the offset equal to the duration
of the preceding page element. In cases where the duration of the preceding page
element is zero then the U

consulted. If it is true, then an offset of 10 seconds is used, otherwise, an offset of 0 is
used.

Sync with device on connect: When Xplay is connected to Vertigo XG device, Xplay
receives callbacks from the XG identifying what is currently cued and on-air on each
keyer (and also if the keyer is on/off). When this setting is enabled, the control side is
loaded in the cue and on-air buffers, as well the keyer state is set to match what is on
the device.

Enable limit for page cache: A cache is available for storing pages, which makes for
quicker access. By default this cache grows without limit, and can use a lot of memory.
Enabling this setting limits the cache size by keeping a maximum number of elements
in this cache. The maximum number of elements in the cache is determine by the L

setting (below).

Limit for page cache: This setting is only used when the E

setting is enabled. The value represents the maximum number of elements in

that are kept in the cache. elements that have not been used for the longest time are
discarded first and anything that is currently visible inside a view is not discarded.

User Defined Application Title: This setting allows you to append a personalize title
to the Xplay window title bar (upper-left corner).

Always get pages from server: Xplay automatically makes local copies of all pages
included in the currently active playlist. Any unsaved changes made to a page in the
preview or on-air windows are preserved in the cached version of the page. Enable this
setting to bypass the cache and have pages loaded directly from the server every time.

Only allow one instance: When the O

option is checked,

only one instance of Xplay may run at a time. If an attempt to launch a second Xplay is
made, a message box appears and informing you to exit this instance of Xplay before
opening another. By default this option is unchecked (disabled) and multiple instance
of Xplay can run simultaneously.
