Selecting an
Interface

The data fields available for importing data or exporting data vary, depend-
ing on the import or export interface chosen. Before you are able to import
or export data, you must select an interface and configure the import or
export settings.

1.

To select an interface, click the drop-down arrow in the Interface field
and select one of the choices from the drop-down menu that appears.

2.

If you select an export option, the Filter button is enabled. Click the
Filter button to display the filter options for the selected export inter-
face.

3.

If you select an order import or host export interface that communicates
with another system, you are able to set a time interval for importing or
exporting data automatically. Enter an amount of time in the Interval
field, then check the Hours, Minutes, or Seconds radio button to select
the time parameter. If you do not want to set a time interval, enter a
zero in the Interval field.

4.

If you selected an import interface, click the ellipsis button (...) in the
Import filename field to open the Open window and navigate to the
imported file to select it.
If you selected an export filename, click the ellipsis button (...) in the
Export filename field to open the Open window and navigate to the
exported file to select it. If the file exists when the export process is
started, new records are added. If the file does not exist, it is created.

5.

Finally, select either a tab delimited or fixed width file type.
Tab Delimited: Click the radio button next to this selection to select
tab delimited files. To set up tab delimited files, assign a numerical
order to the data in the file.
Fixed Width: Click the radio button next to this selection to select
fixed width files. To set up fixed width files, you must have an addi-
tional entry that defines each field’s data length (empty spaces are
included for unused portions of a field).

Tab Delimited
