Unit of Measure

A unit of measure (UOM) allows you to measure the amount of an item in
the database in a structured and distinct unit. Units of measure define a
base unit of measurement such as each, and then higher increments of the
base unit such as carton, bundle, and case. When you enable the multiple
units of measure feature in the System Options form\Features tab, you are
able to list the valid units of measure at the Units of Measure Lookup
table; define them for an item in the Item Data form; and use them in
inventory counts, and with picking and receiving orders. Listing them in
the Units of Measure Lookup table makes them available as UOM selec-
tions in IntelliTrack ISRP. If you plan to implement multiple Units of Mea-
sure, it is important to accurately list these measurements at this table so
that they are available in the IntelliTrack ISRP application when entering
item data and receiving orders. To add, edit, or delete a unit of measure
from the Units of Measure Lookup table, please refer to the sections that
follow.

Note: When you enable the Multiple UOM feature, your system contains
the default
{Each} value to represent the each quantity of one (1). If you
want to use a different value to represent the each quantity of one, you may
delete the default value and enter your own value. Before deleting any
UOM value, make sure that the system is not using this value for any items
in inventory. (Deleting a UOM value from this table does not delete it from
any items that may be using it.) For more information about deleting a
UOM value from the Units of Measure Lookup table, please refer to

“Delet-

ing a Unit of Measure” on page 58
