Importing Additional Data into the System

If additional item data needs to be imported into the application, you are
able to import this information into the application; it will integrate with
your existing item data. Use a delimited text file to import the data via the
standard IntelliTrack import function.

These instructions omit the purge step. Complete the following steps to
import additional data into Inventory:

Note: The imported file must comply with the field order and specifica-
tions defined in

“Import and Export Fields” on page 126

. For more informa-

tion on importing, refer to

“Additional Importing Information” on page 125

.

Generating a Comparison Report

Import Compare does not update the database, it compares the values
between the imported file and the existing data. Before you import the
additional data, it is a good idea to generate a comparison report between
the imported data and the data currently in the Inventory database. To run
an “import compare” report, please refer to the steps that follow.

1.

Select an Import Compare tab > Import Command Group > Compare
option from the ribbon.
