A dialog box appears that provides information on the compare pro-
cess. Review it; if you want to run an import compare report before
appending your data with the import file, select Yes to continue. (If you
do not want to continue with the import compare process, select No to
close the dialog and exit the import compare process.)

The Import Spec Select dialog box appears. Select the import method
from the Import Export Specs field drop-down list that matches your
import file type.

Comma Only (,): an ASCII (i.e., plain text) delimited file separated
(delimited) with commas only

Quote Comma Quote (","): An ASCII (i.e., plain text) delimited
file that separates each field by commas, encloses text fields in
quotes, and places no quotes around numeric fields.

Semicolon (;): an ASCII (i.e., plain text) delimited file separated by
semicolons

Tab Delimited (""->): an ASCII (i.e., plain text) delimited file sep-
arated by tabs

Click the Do It button; the Save Text File window appears.

Browse to the location of your import file and select the file to import.

Click the Open button to generate the comparison report. The report
appears in onscreen preview form.

7.

Review the data in the onscreen preview; if you want to export the
report or attach it to an email, use the export options available via the
onscreen report preview window. When you are ready to import the
data into the application, please refer to the next section.

steps that follow.
