Formatting Conventions

This documentation uses formatting conventions to consistently describe
forms, command entries, and keyboard characters while you are working
with IntelliTrack DMS Inventory. This documentation also uses special
conventions for notes and warnings.

Notes: Special messages appear throughout the documentation to pro-
vide important information about a topic; a note, warning, or caution-
ary message is formatted in this manner:

Note: Important Notes, General Notes, Warning Notes, and Cautionary
Notes appear throughout the documentation to provide important informa-
tion about a topic.

Keystrokes: Filenames, paths, data, and keystrokes entered by the user
are shown in this monospaced typeface.

Form/Screen Items: Items that are found in the DMS Inventory Win-
dows environment such as ribbon options, ribbon sequences, prompt
names, field names and field drop-down lists, check box names, and
radio button names are shown in bold typeface.

Keyboard Keys: The following is a brief description of the keyboard
keys referred to in this documentation; the keys are shown in [brackets
and bold
] typeface.
Enter Key: the [Enter] key refers to the return or carriage return key;
it is used to input data into a field.
ESC Key: The [ESC] key is located on the top left of most keyboard;
to the left of most function keys and above the numeral keys.
Tab Key: The TAB key is located on most keyboards above the Caps
Lock
key on the left side of the keyboard. The TAB key is used to nav-
igate the cells and fields of tables and forms. When you press the TAB
key, the cursor moves forward. When you press Shift + TAB, the cur-
sor moves backwards.

Date and Time
Conventions

The date and time conventions used in this application conform with the
date selection in your computer Control Panel setting.
