Note the software serial number of this product because you will need this
information during registration and activation. (Your software serial num-
ber is found on your product packaging.)
IntelliTrack DMS contains a license service to track your software’s regis-
tration and activation status. The license service is installed with your
product and runs automatically. You must register and activate your soft-
ware to use the fully licensed version of DMS software. Please have your
product serial number available when you register and activate DMS. You
may register and activate IntelliTrack DMS by using the license manager
or the IntelliTrack website registration page, or by calling IntelliTrack
technical support. If you register your product with the license manager,
the activation process is automatic. If you register your product by using
the IntelliTrack website registration page or by calling IntelliTrack techni-
cal support, the activation process is not automatic. With these two
options, you will receive a license file that is used to activate your product.
Please refer to your Quick Start Guide for more information on the regis-
tration and activation process.
Upgrading the
v8.0 Database For the v8.0 SQL version, the data is automatically updated during instal-
lation. We recommend backing up your data BEFORE installing DMS
v8.1.
Upgrading the
v7.x Database For the v7.0 SQL version, you must check your database version in the
Usys table in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. If you are run-
ning the v7.1 database, your data is automatically upgraded during the
installation process. If you are running the v7.0 database, you must run the
7.0 to 7.1 upgrade script BEFORE you install the v8.1 software. The
upgrade script is located in the INV folder on your installation CD. We
recommend backing up your data BEFORE installing DMS v8.1.
Upgrading the
v5.1 and v5.2
Database For the v5.1 or v5.2 SQL version, you must run the 5.2 to 7.1 upgrade
script BEFORE you install DMS v8.1 software. The upgrade script is
located in the INV folder on your installation CD. We recommend backing
up your data BEFORE running the upgrade script.
Upgrading the
v5.0 Database For the v5.0 SQL version, you must run the 5.0 to 5.1 upgrade script
(50to51.sql) then the 5.2 to 7.1 upgrade script BEFORE you install DMS
v8.1 software. The upgrade scripts are located in the INV folder on your
installation CD. We recommend backing up your data BEFORE running
the upgrade scripts.
