Creating Locations for Each Site
Locations reside within a “Site” and are added to a site at the Locations
form. When you create locations for a site, the warehouse space is divided
into specific areas. The following information is required to add a location,
and must be entered in the Locations form:
Warning: When entering data in the application, DO NOT USE special
characters or quotes with the exception of dashes, dots, and spaces. Except
for dashes, dots, and spaces, if you use special characters or quotes when
entering data in the application, the database will become corrupted. For

•
Site: the warehouse/facility where this location resides.
•
Location Identifier: a unique system identifier that you create for this
location, entered in the Location field.
•
Description: a description of the location (i.e., forward pick, staging,
receiving, picking, storage).
•
Cube Size: the cubic space available in this location. Note that this is
an advanced feature (available with WMS RF Professional only) and
must be enabled in the System Options form/Features tab for this set-
ting to be available.

Quarantine designation for the location: check the box in this field
to designate this location as a quarantined location. If a location is
assigned a “quarantine” designation, items cannot be stored or moved
from the location without a workstation override. Note that IntelliTrack
WMS RF Standard and RF Professional do not recognize quarantine
designations in location selections, and will reject any scan that tries to
access a location with a quarantine designation.

Pick sequence: assign the location travel sequence when picking items
(picking process) in this field.
•
Put away sequence: assign the location travel sequence for putting
away items (receiving process) in this field.
