Note: If multiple units of measure is enabled (System Options form/Fea-
tures tab), you must enter the UOM for the new item in the Units of Mea-
sure tab before exiting the Item Data form. Refer to
“Establishing an Item
Unit of Measure Range” on page 116 for more information on units of mea-
sure.
Adding a Picture of the Item
When you enable the Pictures option in the System Options form\Options
tab, you are able to link an image file of the item to the item number in the
Item Data form (for more information about the Pictures option, please
refer to
“Setting System Options” on page 39 . The image file must be a
supported image file type (.wmf, .emf, .dib, .bmp, .ico, .BMP, .EPS, .GIF,
.JPG, .PCT, .PNG, .WMF) in order to import it into the application. The
WMS application directory contains an Images folder to store your
image files; however, you may import an image file from any directory on
the network. To add a picture of an item in the Item Data form, the form
must be in Add or Edit mode. If the form is in Add mode, enter the item
information such as item number and description before adding the picture.
If the form is in Edit mode, this information will already be entered in the
form.
Important: The WMS application uses OLE (Object Linking and Embed-
ding) technology to reference the image file; this means that the image file
does not need to be placed on each individual PC that uses the application.
When placed in a single network directory that is available to all users, the
image file can be referenced by all users from this directory on the Item
Data form.

of the Comments area of the form.
