Introduction

IntelliTrack WMS is a client server system using SQL Express or SQL
Server to handle the MDF back-end data file (or database) and MS Access
to handle much of the application front-end. For optimum system perfor-
mance, it is a good idea to regularly perform basic system maintenance,
including:

1.

Backing up your database; for more information: please see

“Backing

Up the Database” on page 254

.

2.

Compacting the workstation at regular intervals: please see

“Compact-

ing the Workstation” on page 259

.

The WMS application also includes the front-end application; for front-
end backup information, please see

“Front-End File Backup” on page 259

.

In addition, if you ever need to change the WMS application database con-
nection, you may do so at the DATA.UDL file, which is available from the
WMS workstation application Tools tab or the WMS Program folder. For
more information, please see

“Changing the Application Database Connec-

tion” on page 252

.

Verifying Database Connection

transactions. It is located on a PC or network server and managed by SQL
Server or SQL Express. During application installation, SQL login is set
and the IntelliTrack database is created. To verify database creation and
connection, you must know your SQL Login information (including server
name and/or instance) and the IntelliTrack database name.

IntelliTrack
Database

The database is created during application installation. The default data-
base name for WMS 8.1 is WMS80.

SQL Server
Logon
Information

During application installation, the default logon information for SQL
Server is set as username “sa” and password IntelliTrack#2008. You are
able to change the database name and SQL Server logon information.
However, for SQL 2008, a strong password is required. A strong password
