Deleting an
Item Record

If you need to delete an item from the database you may do so from the
Item Data form. Be aware of the database constraints: you cannot delete an
item record if it is part of inventory. If you try to delete an item that is part
of inventory, a dialog box appears indicating that this item is in inventory
and cannot be deleted. The item must be removed from inventory before it
can be deleted.

To delete an item:

1.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Item # selection field (at the top of
the form) to display the list of inventory items.

2.

Select the desired item from the drop-down list. Item data is retrieved
and displayed for the selected item.

3.

Click the Edit button found along the bottom of the form to place the
selected item in Edit mode.

4.

Click the Delete button to remove an item from the system. (Confirma-
tion is requested by a dialog box. Click Yes to confirm the deletion.)
