Chapter 3 Switch Software Features

Port Numbering

The port ID consists of port type (Gigabit Ethernet for Gigabit ports and Fast
Ethernet for 10/100 Mbps ports), unit number (always 1), and port number (1-2
for Gigabit ports, 1-18 for all others, depending on catalog numbers). Gigabit
Ethernet is abbreviated as Gi and Fast Ethernet as Fa.

The following table shows port numbering for the switch.
